This Vegan in Rochester, NY

There is certainly no shortage of vegan bloggers out there, and I certainly don’t have anything on the others. I’m not an amazing chef (although I’m not a terrible cook). I don’t have the ability to travel to exotic lands to report in a vegan tourist type of way… unless New Jersey counts? I’m not a social butterfly and it is very unlikely that I will often have knowledge of breaking vegan news here in Rochester.

As far as I can tell, from a half-assed attempt at a google search, there aren’t really any vegan blogs centered on our Flower City (as of 8/2010). So here I am.

I love discovering new restaurants. When the mood strikes I like to cook.
I live with my vegan husband and our 4 dogs and 2 cats.
I work with dogs and am big on rescue.
I like hiking and doing outdoorsy things. I love watching movies.

I am a 30 something vegan living in Rochester, NY. Welcome to my world.

Hey, Just found this when searching ‘vegan Rochester, NY”. Would love to read more but it looks like things were updated a while ago. I recently decided to go vegan (about 3 weeks ago) and I too live in Rochester. I also have a blog (ha! you’re right, so many vegan blogs!) but would love to read more or get any other restaurant suggestions for vegans in the Roc. Thanks!

I just found your blog while googling ideas for my daughters all vegan wedding. I saw your wedding cake and was wondering if you have any advice as far as who, what, where for Vegan weddings in Rochester.

You might try e-mailing the folks at Small World Bakery. They’ve been working on a vegan wedding cake recipe, and what they’ve come up with so far looks great (check out the blog on their website). I know they’ve been known to make other vegan fare as well. Good luck!

I work for a little bakery in the Village Gate called ‘get caked’. We opened March 1st 2013 and we offer a selection of vegan cupcakes and cookies daily in the store and we cater to any custom orders too, vegan wedding cakes, birthday cakes, etc.
We also offer Gluten free products and do our best to cater to any allergy.
Feel free to stop by or call (585) 319 4314.

    Hi,
First off, I love your blog. It is extremely helpful for fellow vegans, I really appreciate what you’re doing.

I was wondering if you would be able to help me with something. I am an Advertising and Public Relations student at the Rochester Institute of Technology and I am currently taking a Public Relations Writing course. My final project is to create a PR plan for an company/organization that will include a overall PR Plan, Press Release, Brochure, Radio Announcement, Facebook Page, etc. I would really like to do this for an vegan company in Rochester. However, I am having trouble finding a company that doesn’t already have a PR Plan/a website/Facebook page. This would be a completely free service that I am doing, I just need help finding a small company that I could work with for my project. If you have any ideas it would be greatly appreciated. I can be contacted via my RIT email: nxf5165@rit.edu.
    Thank you for your time.

    -Nicole
